Always take in consideration the following.
- Are they insured?
- How experienced are they and what types of events are the experienced in?
- Do they have a contract? ( every DJ should)
- Exactly what is there equipment? A lot of DJ's say they use industry standard gear even tho they use the cheapest models sold by big name brands. Remember even Mercedes sells a cheap car.
- Are they willing to meet in person prior to your event?
- Do they have back up equipment and do they bring it with them?
- Is the person you talk to actually going to be your DJ for the night?
- Can they DJ and MC and event?
- How much do they charge and what all is included? You will see a lot of DJ's out there charging low prices, remember you get what you pay for, and DJ's who charge really low prices do so because they are hurting for business and/or provide a lesser talent.
